A Fast Method of Transforming Relaxation Functions Into the Frequency Domain

چکیده
National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0001 The limits to the error due to truncation of the numeric integration of the one-sided Laplace transform of a relaxation function in the time domain into its equivalent frequency domain are established. Separate results are given for large and small v . These results show that, for a given v , only a restricted range of time samples is needed to perform the computation to a given accuracy. These results are then combined with a known error estimate for integration by cubic splines to give a good estimate for the number of points needed to perform the computation to a given accuracy. For a given data window between t1 and t2, the computation time is shown to be proportional to ln(t1/t2).

Application of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation
Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...
متن کاملINVERSE FREQUENCY RESPONSE ANALYSIS FOR PIPELINES LEAK DETECTION USING THE PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION
Inverse Transient Analysis (ITA) is a powerful approach for leak detection of pipelines. When the pipe transient flow is analyzed in frequency domain the ITA is called Inverse Frequency Response Analysis (IFRA). To implement an IFRA for leak detection, a transient state is initiated in the pipe by fast closure of the downstream end valve. Then, the pressure time history at the valve location is...
متن کاملA Mathematical Approach for Describing Time-Dependent Poisson’s Ratios of Periodontal Ligaments
Periodontal ligament is a thin layer of soft tissue that connects root of a tooth to the surrounding alveolar bone. These ligaments play an important role in initiating tooth movement when loads are applied to teeth with orthodontic appliances. The majority of such soft tissues exhibit as viscoelastic bodies or have a time-dependent behavior. Due to the viscoelastic behavior of the periodontal ...
متن کاملCalculation of One-dimensional Forward Modelling of Helicopter-borne Electromagnetic Data and a Sensitivity Matrix Using Fast Hankel Transforms
The helicopter-borne electromagnetic (HEM) frequency-domain exploration method is an airborne electromagnetic (AEM) technique that is widely used for vast and rough areas for resistivity imaging. The vast amount of digitized data flowing from the HEM method requires an efficient and accurate inversion algorithm. Generally, the inverse modelling of HEM data in the first step requires a precise a...
متن کاملA new technique for bearing fault detection in the time-frequency domain
This paper presents a new Fast Kurtogram Method in the time-frequency domain using novel types of statistical features instead of the kurtosis. For this study, the problem of four classes for Bearing Fault Detection is investigated using various statistical features. This research is conducted in four stages. At first, the stability of each feature for each fault mode is investigated. Then, res...
